How to impress a boy
Steps
1
Show respect for yourself.
2
Confidence and self-assurance are the best ways to impress a guy. That starts first with knowing yourself and embracing who you are. Refrain from slouching or shrinking away, even if you’re nervous. Move with confidence and don’t hesitate when you see him. Groom yourself well, though it needn’t be excessive; comb your hair, brush your teeth and wash regularly. Dress in clothes that are clean, well maintained and appropriate to the situation. Look for outfits that flatter your figure while leaving a decent amount to the imagination. All of these speak of a woman who knows herself and loves herself; in other words, a woman any sensible guy would want to get to know better.
3
Make the First Move. Some guys find it impressive for girls to be that confident, but be careful. Others might be offended and feel threatened.
4
For all the advances feminism has made in recent years, many women still believe that it is appropriate for the man take the initiative and wait for him to act first. But there’s nothing wrong with approaching the guy yourself to initiate contact. Oftentimes, he’s as nervous as you are and trying to work up the nerve to talk to you. Come up to him for a talk or ask him if he’d like to go to lunch or dinner. Call him up instead of waiting for him to call you. If you initiate, it shows both that you are confident in yourself and that you’re interested in him.
5
Smile and stay positive
6
A positive attitude helps him to relax and lets him know that you’re an enjoyable person to be with. Stay away from downbeat topics such as a bad day at work or things that frustrate or annoy you. Stick to topics you enjoy, things that make you happy or engaging topics like movies, music or sports. Smile and make eye contact with him when you talk. Keep the tone of your voice steady and upbeat, without becoming sullen or dismissive.
7
Express an interest in him
8
Everyone likes talking about themselves, whether they’re a guy or a girl. Engage him in topics that he finds interesting, allowing him to talk about his job, his schooling, his family, or hobbies and passions he might have. Stay relaxed while you do so and keep your attention focused on him. Don’t interrupt, but rather wait for an appropriate pause in the conversation before commenting and making your own assertions. As he talks, try to look for areas of commonality or mutual interest–things you both enjoy and which you can talk about together. It makes a good impression and helps the guy feel more at ease around you.
