Top 10 Best Zoo in the World

Every child loves zoos and so did it. All of the world’s awesome animals come together in this giant ‘jungle’ for the people to educate themselves. I have never been to any of the following zoos, but after doing some research while compiling these lists, I as an adult, would personally like to visit these zoos. The zoos that I went to were not very sophisticated as these, at this present time. They have been specifically designed to mimic the natural habitat of a particular animal so as to make them feel at home, and let us observe them in their actuality. You might want to consider any one of these because all of them are absolutely amazing. Enjoy the read!

10. ANIMAL KINGDOM, ORLANDO

Animal Kingdom - Ten Best Zoos
At the number ten spot we have the Animal Kingdom which is a part of Disney Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. It is a commercial zoo but the zookeepers make the animals feel like it is their natural habitat. The park promotes conservation as much as possible and it is hope to around 1,500 different exotic animals and various different fish and bird species. Enjoy your visit and let us know how it went.

9. BASEL ZOO, SWITZERLAND

Basel Zoo - Ten Best Zoos
The Basel Zoo is situated in Switzerland and it opened in the year 1984. It is one of the oldest zoos in the world. The zoo has the honor of being the second most visited places in all of Switzerland. You will be able to see Somolian Wild Donkes and also dwarf hippopotami in the zoo. The zoo houses around 6,000 different animals and is a must visit.

8. BEAUVAL ZOO, FRANCE

Beauval Zoo - Ten Best Zoos
The zoo originally opened in the year 1980 and it housed over 2,000 different species of birds only. Ten years later, other animals were introduced into the zoo and the number of animals in the zoo have increased to a whopping 4,000 ever since. There are two white tigers in the zoo named Gorby and Raisa. The zoo also houses twin manatees; they are called Quito and Luna. These creatures are a must see, so make sure you visit them.

7. BRONX ZOO, NEW YORK

Bronx - Ten Best Zoos
If you take metropolitan areas into account, the Bronx Zoo is the largest in the United States. It covers an area of around 250 acres and has a collection of over 4,000 animals. It also is home to many endangered species from around the world. If you visit there, you have to go to the Tiger Mountain, where you will be able to see the Siberian Tigers. There is a huge 6.5 acre Congo Gorilla Forest, where you can experience an African Safari Adventure. The zoo also houses many different insects that you can see. Enjoy!

6. NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS OF SOUTH AFRICA

National Zoological Gardens - Ten Best Zoos
National zoological gardens of South Africa is located in Pretoria and it literally is everything you are looking for in a zoo. It is the largest zoo in all of South Africa and houses over 2,500 species of animals. The interesting bit is that most of the animals residing in the zoo were born and bred at the very same place, so you might as well say that they are locals. The zoo features a reptile park and the largest aquarium in South Africa. The zoo also has a lot of different exotic trees. It is definitely a place to visit on my list.

5. BERLIN ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN, GERMANY

Berlin - Ten Best Zoos
The zoo was open to public in the year 1844. The zoo is given importance and is considered as a land mark because it survived the Second World War. It was extensively damaged but was then rebuilt. The zoo also houses a lot of different and rare species of animals that cannot be found in every zoo. That serves as the main attraction for me and also the architecture. The Berlin Zoo also successfully breeds these animals so they are not going to run out of the rarities anytime soon.

4. SCHONBRUNNER ZOO, AUSTRIA

Schonbrunner Zoo - Ten Best Zoos
This zoo can be found in Vienna in Austria. It was founded in the year 1792 which also gives it the right to be called the oldest zoo in the entire world. If you are in the area, you might want to visit the Rainforest House and the Artic Polarium; you will love it. The most interesting bit of the zoo is the house of the polar bears. In the late November in the year 2007, the mother polar bear gave birth to two beautiful little cubs and they were brought outside by the mother in March of 2008 and if you are lucky, she might do that when you are visiting.

3. SMITHSONIAN NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL PARK, WASHINGTON D.C.

Smithsonian - Ten Best Zoos
This is honored as the country’s national zoo and it is earned this title. It houses around 400 species and that means somewhere around 2,000 different animals. You know how many zoos around the world has a fee to let you enter. Well, the regular admission into this zoo is absolutely free. The zoo also offers a Snore and Roar tour. The tour gives you a tour of the zoo at night time and you also get to camp out. It should serve as a fun experience and also a little scary. This, for me, is the biggest attraction this particular zoo has to offer.

2. TORONTO ZOO

Toronto Zoo - Ten Best Zoos
It is one of the largest zoos in the world, spreading over an area of 700 acres. It is home to over 5,000 different animals. An interesting fact you should know while I’m on the subject is that the year 2008 was the year of the frogs. The Toronto Zoo is very active when it comes to activities designed to honor the frog. Amphibians are endangered species by the way, a fact of which not many of us are aware. The zoo also participates in activities to increase awareness regarding this fact.

1. SINGAPORE ZOO

Singapore Zoo - Ten Best Zoos
The zoo is very famous for the brilliant landscape. The zoo has a lot of unique and awesome attractions and my personal favorite would have to be the Jungle Breakfast. You can enjoy our breakfast with amazing wildlife right in front of you. You can also feed the elephants and a lot of other things. You will encounter orangutans as they are mingling in the crowd and you will find this very entertaining too. The zoos serve as an amazing place for you to plan an excursion too. It is very educative and it is pure fun to the see the animals in their man-made natural habitat.
